Intraoperative Renal Stone Identification Using Polaroid Film

Abstract

|
|
Intraoperative localization of renal stone is essential for complete surgical removal of staghorn or multiple renal stones.
We herein describe the experiences of using Polaroid films, Type 107, 667 and 52, in the surgically removed kidney and intraoperative radiography. Intraoperative placement of the film behind the kidney has been very difficult and is the most important step to get satisfactory image of renal stone.
